3200 meter

ok, I am a sophmore in High School, and i run the 3200 meter. my times for the 3200 meter is 11.40, and my mile time is 5.30. now my question is this: should i base my training on running my mileage and trying to add more every week, or should i be focusing on mile repeats and other track workouts. I have been very confused about this for a long time. I average, right now, about 44 miles per week
