Running the 800

It seems that my 800 is too slow for my skill, im am going to be a freshman and my mile is a 4:41, I also want to make the 4x8 team next year and they are 6th in the state. how can i get a better 800??
It's alittle hard, not knowing you, but i'd say keep building your aerobic endurance training, for long term development. For your 800, i'd suggest something like a weekly set of 6 x 200m, starting at around 2 mile pace in the fall and gradually moving down to 800m goal pace by the middle of track season (6 x 200m with 1 minute jog)
