Question about young Runners

Hi, I am a student athlete that is currently working as a coach for my former high schools summer running program. I am in charge of the 5th and 6th graders, but really I don't know how to coach someone so young. I am afraid of either doing too little or too much with them. It seems so hard to try and explain some concepts of running to a 5th grader. What would be an appropriate amount of running to give to these kids? Most of them are pretty inexperienced runners so I don't want to push too hard. If someone could please give some guidelines or guidance that would be great. Thanks for the help!


just start with 5 minutes 6 x strides 5 minutes form drills over time, gradually increase, based on individual results
