Controlling my nerves08/08/09

I feel fine an hour or two before my race but somehow when I am stretching and warming up for my race I start feeling really nervous. I have recently got worse with my nerves and have been sick the past few times on the line just before I start. Three hours before the race I have a half a bottle of Lucozade is this the right drink before my race?
