This week running

So I have a race this weekend. I am doing this race because I will be on a cruise during pre- region so I am doing a race so my coach and I will know were I am at in my times on a 5k before I leave. Well I need to know what kinda of workout should I do this week. One of my teammates dad said I could either do a hard workout on tuesday (4 by 1200s) or do a monday and wednesday workout (2 or 3 by 1200 on Monday and do 8 hills on Wednesday). I did help! Is that a good workout or do I did to do a easier one?
