help with weight

I run every other day about 2-3 miles and every week i have been running the same thing for about a year. Sometimes i will try to run more and i just get to tired. It seems like im always out of shape and ive noticed that i have bad eating problems and im guessing that is it. My legs are really toned but my upper area is more flabby and i think it isnt that good for running. do you have any advice for any diet i should go on or anyway i can lose some of the extra weight? i dont drink cokes or sodas or anything like that i usually just drink water, lemonade and gatorade. PLEASE HELP
